How to troubleshoot a java-net-UnknownHostException that is thrown by a process or atom.
A 'java.net.UnknownHostException' error is thrown to indicate that the IP address of a host could not be determined:

http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/net/UnknownHostException.html

Typically this is an intermittent error that may be caused by temporary network communication or DNS issues where the atom is not able to identify the host/endpoint that you are connecting to.

If you see this error consistently you will need to verify that the host is reachable from the server on which the atom is installed. Typically, you can verify connectivity by using ping (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_%28networking_utility%29) or a proxy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server) utility like Charles Proxy (http://www.charlesproxy.com/).
