What is the change?

In January 2016, Salesforce.com will be retiring the use of “www.salesforce.com” as an API endpoint, per this link.

In the future, integrations should use “login.salesforce.com” as the official endpoint for the Salesforce API.

How does this affect Dell Boomi?

The Dell Boomi Salesforce Connector and Apex Connector use “www.salesforce.com” as the default connection URL.
To address this change, Dell Boomi will implement the following changes to the Salesforce Connector in CONN-3322 and the Apex Connector in CONN-3443, in our January 13, 2016 release:
  • New Salesforce and Apex Connections will default to the “login.salesforce.com” URL
  • Existing Salesforce and Apex Connections that point at 'www.salesforce.com' will keep that configuration, but we will route all of these calls to “login.salesforce.com”
Dell Boomi has coordinated with Salesforce.com to ensure that integrations using the Salesforce and Apex Connectors will not break during the timeframe between when they are retiring the endpoint and our release.

What action must I take?

As a best practice, it is recommended that you proactively change your existing Salesforce and Apex Connector connections from www.salesforce.com to login.salesforce.com.

For example, when changing the Salesforce Connector, please use the below URL.

[Before]

https://www.salesforce.com/services/Soap/u/18.0

[After]
https://login.salesforce.com/services/Soap/u/18.0

Change the URL field in the Salesforce Connection component in Build, test it and redeploy.  Or if the URL field is extended, change it in Extension values.

IMPORTANT: Dell Boomi will not implement changes for the following components.  If you are connecting to the Salesforce API using any of the following components, it is imperative that you update your integrations to replace www.salesforce.com with login.salesforce.com by the January 1, 2016 retirement date, in order to ensure that your integrations continue to function as expected:
  • HTTP client Connector
  • SOAP client connector
  • Custom scripting
If you have any questions, please contact Dell Boomi Support.
