Why is only a minimum or default number of documents are picked up by Atom Queue?

Point-to-Point Atom Queue - Get Operation will process only the minimum.

There is a process that adds all the errors into a Point-to-Point error queue, and at the end of the process it retrieves the error messages using get action. The get operation is configured as follows:
Recieve Timeout (MS) = -1
Minimum Documents = 3
The process retrieves only 3 documents and stops, it does not pickup rest of the documents.
Actually what you have noticed is correct, per our reference guide:

http://help.boomi.com/atomsphere/GUID-2E34132E-6267-4E24-B903-8DA72F72DBB4.html

Minimum number of documents Sets the number of documents to try to receive within the Receive Timeout (ms) period. The default is 3. Upon receipt of the specified number of documents, execution of the process proceeds without waiting for the period to expire.

So you set that flag to 10, but if you had 11 documents, messages, it still picked up the 'first' 10 documents
before the expiration of the time.

The execution of the process continues, but it won't process any extra messages from the queue.
