In the past, some Dell Boomi users observed that external Java applications were making calls to Boomi WSS listener processes and processes were getting executed twice on an atom without an HTTP shared server log entry of the initial attempt.

By default, Java will auto retry http POST calls in certain scenarios. Since most users do not want this, in the November 2014 release, Dell Boomi decided to disable this behvaior by default by adding the following option in
the atom.vmoptions file under the bin/ directory for New atom installs.

-Dsun.net.http.retryPost=false

Reference PLAT-10031 in: http://help.boomi.com/atomsphere/GUID-4951D9F6-83B4-4EDA-903F-5115E8F1A195.html

If you wish to not have this behavior for older atoms, you can add this property to older atoms, molecules or clouds.  You will need to restart the older atom, molecule and cloud nodes after making this change to the atom.vmoptions file.

If you wish to have auto retry behavior turned on, you can simply remove this option from new atoms installed after November (and restart the atom(s)) or leave older atoms as-is.
