When using the Atom Message Queuing functionality, you want to assign a correlationID when writing to the queue and then when reading from the queue, be able to pull that correlationID so it can be stored.
All Dynamic Document Properties are preserved as part of message queuing.  You can put any identifier you want on any document, (as a Dynamic Document Property),  that is sent on an atom queue and get it back when the document is retrieved.
