This is a known issue with QuickBooks that may occur when an integrating application such as the Atom attempts to connect to the company file.

Some of the QuickBooks XML component files may have been corrupted at some point after installing QuickBooks or after restarting the machine.


Do the following to correct:

  1. Backup your QuickBooks company file.
  2. Close QuickBooks.
  3. Navigate to the QuickBooks installation directory. This is typically C:\Program Files\Intuit\<QuickBooks version>.
  4. Run the reboot.bat file.
  5. IMPORTANT: Restart the machine.

If the problem persists, locate and review the qbsdklog.txt for additional errors. This file is typically located in the ../Intuit/QuickBooks/ folder on the machine where QuickBooks is installed.
