When using the Microsoft Azure Service Bus connection, the actual value to use as the Azure Namespace Name can be tricky. In this document, we list the errors that you may observe, so that you will know to use only the Namespace Name, and not the complete https URL.

Background

The documentation (Microsoft AzureService Bus connection) for the Microsoft Azure Service Bus connection defines the Azure Namespace Name as follows:

AzureNamespace NameEnter or paste only your namespace. This is the name of your Service Bus resource in the Azure portal. The connection then builds the fully qualified domain name as https://<yournamespace>.servicebus.windows.net/. When you create a Service Bus namespace, a policy is automatically created for the entire namespace that has all permissions.

However, in the Microsoft Azure Service Bus connection panel, where the help/information icon is moused/rolled over for the Azure Namespace Name, the information can be confusing, as to what to enter for the namespace, the FQDN or the full URL.

If the https://<yournamespace>.servicebus.windows.net/ url is entered, you will observe one of the following error messages when trying to use the Microsoft Azure Service Bus Import Wizard.

Possible Errors When Using an Incorrect Namespace Name

In the three different errors shown below, the reason for them are the same, the Azure Namespace Name is not valid, and should be checked to be sure ONLY the actual namespace is entered.

Import Wizard -  Error when using Cloud or Atom

Microsoft Azure Service Bus Import Wizard
Unable to browse connector: [1001] Unable to complete the HTTP call due to a communication error with the remote server. https

Import Wizard  -  Error when using Boomi Atom Test Cloud

Microsoft Azure Service Bus Import Wizard
Unable to browse connector: [1002] java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("java.net.SocketPermission" "https:443" "connect,resolve")

Test Execution - Error found in the container.logs

In the container.logs, when you execute the process using the improperly entered Azsure Namespace Name with a https URL, you can search in the container.logs for "An error occurred during the communication with the remote HTTP server".  Close to this trace statement, you will find the reason for the error, in this case, java.net.UnknownHostException: https.  If you search above this error, you will see the malformed https URL.  Observe that the entire URL is contained within the constructed https:// URL, causing the issue.  This will also give you a strong hint that only the namespace should be entered.

[hostRef,requestUri]=[null,https://https://<yournamespace>.servicebus.windows.net/.servicebus.windows.net/test/messages]
