is there any zOS specific plugni/connector available either official or even just contributed from the community?

Is this the same question as your other post (https://na2.salesforce.com/chatteranswers/ChatterAnswersQuestionSingleItem.apexp?id=90640000000GqE1)? What do you mean by plugin/connector, just the ability to install on that OS?

This is a question coming from a prospect. I don't have knowledge of the zOS world, the customer keeps trying to investigate new ways to connect the zOS environment with Win/Linux systems.
It's perfectly possible that they expect some custom connectors for some zOS-only applications/protocols which is more efficient or more semanthic than CICS Transaction Gateway or webservices or using DB2

Not sure if this information helps but i have been able to install an atom on Solaris and it looks (http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/tools/java/products/sdk7_64.html) like there is a java runtime for zOS so you could try installing an atom an see if that works.
