This is out of curiosity: is there any field length constrain for a static input type. How much length can a static type parameter take.
Fun question. I would say no real limit for all practical intents and purposes. For example, I just entered 60K characters as a static value in a parameter...slowed the UI a bit but otherwise accepted.
What's your scenario?
I was trying to do the XML validation against a XSD. Currently I have used a message shape to have my XSD and in a set property shape I am using a process property with current data as the parameter value. I was just wondering is it possible to pass the entire xsd to a static variable.
Technically possible but always discouraged as a best practice to store an entire document in a process property, but if you know your data won't ever be relatively huge (say 100's KBs) you can use this approach. Assuming the XSD isn't huge, I would suggest storing that in the PP because it's a known/static quantity.
Storing in a static value was my initial approach. Since the XSD was huge I stored it in PP and it worked. But I was curious about the size limitation. Thanks Adam.
