On a JMS queue we can do get, send, or listen.
Is there a way to browse a JMS queue without removing messages from that queue?
While the JMS API does provide browsing functionality, there is not currently a way to browse a JMS queue using the Boomi JMS connector.
What's your use case?
Hi - I would like to browse through the message to delete a few orphaned messages. Since different processes are putting the messages to the same queue, i would like to browse through the queue and delete a certain messages which are in the queue for a certain amount of time. (eg: Purge if the message are in the queue for more than say 2 minutes)
Ranjini, Would you mind adding this as an "Idea", by clicking the Ideas tab at the top of the community?
In the meantime, in the downstream process, could you simply check the timestamp on the message when you pull it off the queue? This might be a simpler approach then creating another process to "clean up" the queue.. .
It sounds like you're asking about some kind of queue admin/management view vs. just browsing a list of available queues as part of the initial connector operation configuration (I believe that's what James Ahlborn may have been hinting at).
If so, generally I'd look to the queue provider to offer those types of tools (vs. the middleware platform). For example, you can "browse" the built-in Atom Queues via Atom Management but that's because those queues are actually managed within the Atom. However for external JMS queues, I would use a queue provider-specific client to monitor and manage outside of Boomi.
