A webservice response can have one of many content types. In this case what do i select for Content Type in my HTTP Client connector?
I usually just place a Stop Shape after the connector and perform a test the process in Build.
Then I click on the Stop Shape and see what document I have got as response from the webservice.
Hi Leif Jacobsen Thanks for the response. Conent type of theWebservice response can be either applicaiton/json or application/pdf. But only one value is allowed for Content type field in the HTTP client operation.
I am wondering what Content type to choose in this case!
Exactly. But the webservice will respond to your request. You don't need to specify that instantly. If you send a request from the Build in a test, you will be able to see that after the connector shape for instance in a stop shape.
You have selected the Expose Response Envelope, right?
Sometimes I have used the freeware program SoapUI from soapui.org, but you should be able to do it from Boomi.
Leif Jacobsen Thank you. But This webservice returns a pdf in one case and json in another case. accordingly content type of the response also changes. btw I am using HTTP connector; not the webservice client connector. Boomi documentation says that multiple content types are supported. For me it is not working!!
In that case I would definitely get the SOAPUI application.
There must be (should be?) a parameter in your request where you can define the response type you want.
It doesn't make sense that you get different response types on the same request.
I think that "Content Type" option is asking you to specify the MIME type of the request data that you're *sending* to the web server, not the data that you're expecting to *receive*. This makes sense for HTTP "PUT" and "POST" operations, but not so much for "GET" when you're not sending any content.
