Writing connectors that depend on 3rd party JARs

Can a connector be created withOUT packaging in a required 3rd party JAR, and leaving that to the person doing the installation (similar to the way the JMS needs outside JARs). I'm thinking about the scenario where the 3rd party JAR may have an incompatible licensing model with Boomi's model, where it would be advantageous to keep them separate.
