Is there a painless way to update profiles when you are changing the endpoint version of a connection

One of the connectors we use is Netsuite.  However I have found that everytime I want to migrate to a new endpoint version all my deployed process start failing because the profiles reference the endpoint version that they were created with.  If that version is different from the endpoint version in the connector the process errors out.

This is extremely time consuming every time I want to roll to a new endpoint version. Not to mentioned due to profile changes sometimes all my mapping is removed and I need to remap everything again which causes additional testing and risk.

I really hope I am missing something because over a year ago I migrated our Netsuite Connector to 2015.2 now due to a Netsuite bug I likely will need to migrate again and I have somewhere between 20-30 profiles.  Is there a better way to make this migration?

Thanks for any input!
