What data type in MSSQL should be used to create boolean types.

I'm using the following service to connect to a MS Azure (MSSQL) database:

https://services-staging.manywho.com/api/sql/2

It creates objects and types for the most part however I've found that it does not create object properties of type boolean for bit fields.  After creating an additional field of type bit and updating the service reference the field was not visible as a property on the resulting object.  I changed the data type on the field in azure to int and again updated the service, at which point the property did show up on the object (although as type integer).

Is there some other way I should be handling boolean values with MSSQL?
