What happens if I deploy a process that is already running?

I have a daily process that failed Saturday morning. It processes a large amount of data that gets created the day before (in this case Friday) and takes about 10 hours to run for a weekday of data. Tomorrow morning (Tuesday) I need to rerun the failed job, but now it needs to get Friday through Monday's data. This means I need to change the parameters to be 4 days instead of the usual one day.

Once I kick off the job with the parameter set to 4 days (which will take close to 20 hours), can I deploy it again with the original parameter? I.e. I don't want to have to wake up in the middle of the night to check to make sure the job has completed so that I can change the parameter setting back to its original setting.

Thanks!
