How Target Element Occurrence decided in mapping ?

Question asked by abdur.hameedshaikh202829 on Sep 14, 2018

I would like to understand on which basis the occurrence of target element will be decided.

For Example, below is my target XML.

<SalesOrder>

   <Header>

         <Field1/>

   </Header>

   <Items>

         <Item>

               <Field2/>

              <Field3/>

         </Item>

   </Items>

</SalesOrder/>

What I observer that I do not need to map Parent elements ( SalesOrder, Header and Items etc ). Map component is creating them automatically based on child mapping.

Could you please explain the factors that will decide occurrence of Parent elements ?

There might be also cases where each child element may have different occurrences under same parent. How Boomi is deciding the occurrence in this case ? Is there any way to control the occurrence of target element based on source data ?

Also, I found cases where single source profile generates multiple target documents because of different occurrence of child elements.

Does Looping option in profile has any relation with Occurrence of element ?
