Sure, our development team is quite large and at a high level is split into 3 groups. Each of these groups manages certain applications and thus owns certain integrations within Boomi. Each of these groups also has their own on-call rotations and handles errors in their own way (e.g. one group might prefer emails while another might prefer ServiceNow tickets). I use a Cross Reference table as a way for each of these groups (and the various sub-groups in those groups) to tell me how to handle their errors (i.e. what email to send messages to, what ServiceNow group to assign tickets to, etc.)
My Cross Reference table would look something like the following:
Now, when a developer is building a Boomi process they make a call to my shared Error Handling process and pass in the Channel, Category, Error Message and Criticality. With this information I am able to lookup in my Cross Reference table and retrieve all the information I need to successfully send that error notification along the correct communication channels.
