How to Concatenate Two Strings with a Custom Delimiter in the Middle

You have two fields, let's say, Address1 and Address2.  You would like to combine them into one string with a custom character or characters in the middle.  One such example could be an HTML linebreak.   The end result would look something like this:


Address1<br />Address2

The easiest way to go about this would be in a User Defined Map Function.  In the middle of the function, add a Custom Scripting step and then add in your two inputs and one output.  So your map function might look something like this:

 

0EM40000000PDWK

 

The inside of the Scripting step then would look something like this:

 

0EM40000000PDWP

 

After you save that, you'll be able to map your values from your source profile to the two inputs to your Map Function, giving you an end result similar to this:

 

0EM40000000PDWU
