The following error is received when a Linux atom is started:

java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using 'localhost:10.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

Please try the following and see if the issue is resolved:

     1.  Add the following line to the "atom.vmoptions" file in the bin/ folder under the atom installation directory:

     -Djava.awt.headless=true

     Optional:

Also, you may need to unset the display variable. To do so, type the following at a command prompt:

     unset DISPLAY

If you want to unset the DISPLAY every time the atom starts you can edit the restart.sh file in bin/ folder under the atom installation directory and add the following line

     unset DISPLAY

     2. Try starting the atom after you make the above change to verify if the changes resolve the issue.
