UTF-8 Character Encoding Error

Customer is receiving 'IO Error:Invalid byte 2 of 3-byte UTF-8 sequence' error when testing Process data to QuickBooks.
Other applications may receive errors with specific special character such as &, [ or ].

Add  the following line to <Local Atom Install>/bin/atom.vmoptions file if running the Atom as a service.
Add the following line to <Local Atom Install>/bin/atomw.vmoptions file if running the Atom as Desktop.

 

-Dfile.encoding=utf-8

 

After saving the file, restart the Atom to institute the UTF-8 changes before re-executing the Process.

 

Please note that you will need to know the encoding of the source data to get consistent results. If the data that you import into the process is not UTF-8, you may need to first use the Data Process shape to character decode to first decode the character set to UTF-8.
