An FTP test process fails with the following error when the Boomi Test Atom Cloud is used:
FTP connection fails with Caused by: access denied ("java.net.SocketPermission" "<ip_address>:<port_number>" "connect, resolve")

  1. Make sure the required IP ranges have been whitelisted.
  2. Attempt to use tools and utilities outside Boomi and see if they are successful. Even if they are, you may need to continue investigating.

What is missing?

Make sure that ftp server or the target server or target IP address is the correct destination and is successfully resolved on the network:

  • Check any firewalls.
  • Check any proxy settings and ip addresses.
  • Use "passive" mode (commonly supported mode) in FTP connector (server is expected to connect to the client listener port, in "passive" mode and client connects to the server for data transfer)

In this particular case, the NAT address was used as the proxy settings on the FTP site/server .
