Why is my document error not in the process log?

Errors can occur at the process level or a document level and be logged to either a document error log or the process error log rr both, depending on the nature of the error.
Process logs record the overall execution for all documents processed. Document logs record the execution of a single document.

When you see an error in a process, it is recommended to check the process log first to determine where the error occurred. Then, look at the document logs for details on the failed documents. In addition to the log files, you may want to also take a look at the Process State. The Process State provides the time elapsed in seconds for each shape in the process and the number of times the step was performed or the number of documents processed, as appropriate.
