Why am I unable to mask the From Address in the Mail connector?

In a use-case where the username for authentication in the Email connector and the corresponding From Address for its operation are expected to be different, it can be achieved using either of the below methods.

1. Define the 'From Address' field in the Mail connector operation with the alternate email address.
2. Use a Set Properties shape to overwrite an existing value.

But defining the value specifically might not work sometimes and the email will still be sent from the same user used for authentication in the connection.
Though Boomi allows masking the from address parameters for sending emails, it might be considered as potential spam or a security risk by some service providers. Gmail for example, does not allow masking of this address and hence the mails will be sent from the actual user information provided for the authentication.

It is recommended verify if the SMTP server rules allows this masking in advance when testing such scenarios.
