When using the mail connector and using gmail as the mail server, an error message is seen and the email is not sent.

The following error message is seen when running a test with the mail connector pointed to a gmail server:

Test execution of <process_name> completed with errors. Embedded message: Error occurred connecting to e-mail server: null; Caused by: javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException

You may also receive an email in your Google mailbox that states the following:

Hi <name>,

Someone just tried to sign in to your Google Account <gmail_email_address> from an app that doesn't meet modern security standards.

The mail connector is configured as follows:

2016-07-07 09_05_01-Edit Document 'Cannot use mail connector to sen... _ Dell Boomi Community.png

The following link provides the procedure to allow less secure apps to access your account: Allowing less secure apps to access your account - Accounts Help

This does not mean that the mail connector is a less secure connection as Google also blocks Microsoft Outlook and other applications with this same error message.
