Question/Issue:

Are Formula Fields allowed to be used or supported in Boomi mappings that integrate with NetSuite Saved Searches?

For example, formula fields are used in a Map in a process that integrates with a NetSuite Saved Search.  When the process runs, there are no errors, but no data or documents are generated. Is this the expected behavior ?

Details:

Formula fields in a NetSuite Saved search can either be used to filter the search data at a finer level, or manipulate it (like date to string) using different types of functions.

-- An example formula field that converts from character to date is as follows:

TO_CHAR(\{custrecord_fullname.custrecord_startdate\}, 'YYYYMMDD')

Note that formula fields are different from Custom fields.  There can be more than one formula field in a saved search.  When there are no Formula fields involved, the query is successful. When formula fields are involved, no data is returned from the connector and there are no errors.

Solution:

Query the data first from NetSuite, then use a Map shape and add map functions to perform the same formula functionality on the data that is returned from the query.

Currently the use of Formula Fields in the NetSuite connector and in NetSuite Saved Searches is not available as a feature.

If this functionality is desired in a future Dell Boomi AtomSphere release, search for and submit an Idea in the Community, or vote on the Idea if it exists. That way, the idea will be reviewed by other Community users, and voted on, so that the Dell Boomi product management team can consider it as a new feature enhancement in the future.
