Can maps not be used bi-directionally ?
I've not been able to find any documentation or training about this, yet I would imagine that being able to use maps bi-directionally has clear maintainence benefits.

Maps are not bidirectional. From my experience I've seen very few occasions where the mapping would be the same both ways; more often than not there are minor to major differences in mapping logic when going each way.
