I have created a local atom but it is not active although the service related to it is already started. Since it is not active, it is not showing up in the atom's list when I am trying to run a process. Kindly help

Once you start the Atom service, are you able to find any details within the <atom>/logs/container.log file that would indicate some type of startup or connectivity to platform.boomi.com issues from your server?
Also Is this a windows or linux installed Atom? And is it showing up as "red" within the manage>>process reporting section?

Can you try stopping the atom, waiting five minutes, then try starting it again?
Let us know if you continue to see the same behavior after restart.

Thanks Justin and Macosky for the reply.
I tried stopping and then starting it again after 5-10 minutes but it didn't help.
container log says following:

This is a windows installed atom and it's showing up as "red". Kindly help....

Are you still having this issue?
If so, please verify in task manager (make sure all users is checked) that there is an atom.exe service running. If that is running, please make sure your system time is up to date and correct (including time zone). You will also want to verify that you can ping platform.boomi.com It may also be worthwhile to have a network admin verify that there is nothing blocking traffic to our platform.
If you are still having issues past that then please feel free to log a support ticket and we can get further details to help you troubleshoot. Please provide any details you can about the system environment including operating system/version, is system virtualized?, are you on a network using proxies, etc.
