How to lower Atom Memory Consumption?

I keep getting Java Heap Space errors, which I know means that the Atom is running out of allocated memory.

I have increased the allocated memory from the default 512 MB to 1024 MB, which is the maximumfor an Atom on a 32 bit machine.
I also tried adding a Flow Control, but this did not seem to resolve the issue.

Any ideas on how to make the processes lighter on the memory resources?
