Adding jar files to my /atom_installation_directory\userlib directory. Should the directory already exist, and how do I find it?

New to Boomi. I have a groovy script that packages multiple XML files into a signed multi-file mime message file. Some of the features are in jar files not available in the standard Java installation so I need to add additional jar files to my /<atom_installation_directory>\userlib directory.
Should the directory already exist, and how do I find it? I have version 3 (34294) installed on my server.
Are there any tricks to doing this other than Boomi needs restarting?
