XML Cleansing: Mandatory fields

The 'Cleanse' step recognises fields that have been declared as 'Mandatory' on a Database profile, and we can reject documents on the basis of that.

The XML profile has two things similar two that, namely
  1. XML Attributes have a 'Required' checkbox, which require the attribute to be present.
  2. XML has a 'Minimum' occurence requirement too.

But the 'Cleanse' Step is unable to recognize either.

Now, I know that the meaning of 'Mandatory' elements and 'Required' attributes differ, but is there any way we can use the above to cleanse XML files in the process path where a tag is missing?

If not there, what can be the only workaround?
