FTP 'GET AND MOVE' Operation or 'MOVE' Operation

Is there a way that I can send 'move' commands to an FTP server?  Rather than download the file, and resend to another folder?  The files can be very large and it doesn't make sense to me that I would need to download the whoel file, only to turn around and upload the same file again.  Seems like a lot of work just to 'move' a file.

This could be achieved with a 'rename' file command back to the FTP server.

Here's what I'm trying to achieve.
  1.           Download the file from root and immediately MOVE that file OUT of root, into a folder called 'processing'
    •                     So that the file doesn't get picked up again the next process run.

  2.           Once successfully processed, MOVE the file from 'processing' to 'processed'.
I can do this now, but I need to download the file twice AND upload the file twice.  That's a lot of overhead, and its direcly related to the SIZE of the file.

Is there another way?
