Can we store the IP address of a server in a Cross reference table and make use of it during sending the files to customer ?

This is mainly to avoid changing each time, the IP address or the host name on the connection settings...instead we can update the cross reference table ?
any inputs is greatly appreciated ..

It is not possible to set the connection settings dynamically at runtime (would subvert the licensing model) however what might address your need is the Extensions feature. This allows you to configure certain aspects of the process--most notable connection settings and "global variable" process properties--at deploy-time vs. build-time. This means when the credentials change e.g. password reset you can easily update it at the environment or atom level without having to change the component and redeploy the entire process.
