I'm trying to communicate with a MySQL database hosted on Amazon. I've got the correct .jar in userlib/database. We've opened traffic between our local atom and AWS, including ports 3306 and 3307. However, whenever I attempt to connect - just to generate a database profile - I always receive the following:

Test execution of AWS MySQL test completed with errors. Embedded message: Error retrieving db data: Communications link failure The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.; Caused by: Communications link failure The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.; Caused by: Connection timed out: connect

My credentials are as follows

Database URL  jdbc:mysql://ourAWSinstance.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306/databaseName
Database Type:MYSQL
User:userid
Password:***
Host:ourAWSinstance.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com
Port: 3306
Database Name databaseName
Additional Options [blank]
Class Name com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

Has anyone attempted this, or been successfull with it?

Thanks.
