How do you set properties for POST HTTP Client connector -  Request header's replacement variable without interrupting the data flow in the process?

I need to get a token value from Branch 1 and set it as an Authorization replacement variable in HTTP client's request header. I implemented this by setting a Process Property in Branch 1 and then using that to set a Dynamic process property named Authorization in Set Properties. I used the "Authorization" as a replacement variable in the HTTP Client's Request Header values. When I set properties as in this diagram like this, the data flow to the HTTP client is interrupted and the POST operation doesn't complete. It returns with a 500 error. Any suggestions?
