We have "test atom cloud" as part of atom architechture.
I don't own my atoms/molecules so can't modify any settings (to place correct jar files in order to connect via DB connector).
As per my knowledge there are 2 ways to connect AS/400.
1) Using FTP - You should whitelist test atom cloud IP range to access your AS/400 FTP.
2) Using Database connector - But this is not possible with test atom cloud as this requires additional Jar files, you should need to use local atom.
Do you want to connect to a DB2 database on an AS400 server? I would expect most DB2 instances would run "inside the firewall" or on some private cloud connected to the internal network. Unless IBM offers DB2 public cloud solutions just like Amazon RDS.
But anyway, from an architectural point of view, if the DB2 instance is running on the internal network, it's recommended to install a local atom on the internal network on the inside of the firewall. Then deploy your DB2 processes on this Atom et voila
Thanks Sjaak & Pavan for your inputs. As I can't change the atom architecture as of now so Solution 1 by Pavan should work. I will try that first.
