Email alerts not being sent

From my understanding, an email alert should be sent out for all errors in processes on our production atoms. We have a real time process (low latency) using a HTTP connection that is not generating an alert when an error occurs. The latest example is a 500 Internal Server Error, but we have seen others as well. Has anyone had problems getting the error alerts to send? 


We have multiple users subscribed to the error alerts, but no one is receiving the email.
