I wanted to know is there any technical user can i use to consume API service of Boomi or i have to use my user name.
You can create username and generate password for each username in shared web server settings.
Go to AtomManagement->share werb server->User management.
Hello Varahanarasimhulu singuru,
I have already tried to use that but its failing with Incorrect user name and password combination.
I am calling https://api.boomi.com/api/rest/v1/<AccountID>/Event/query so i assume user management password will not work, it will work only for the URL maintained in shared web-service.
with my boomi user name n password i am able to call api service but i was wondering how can i user generic api user for a call.
the username which is created in Atom management is used to access web service which are created in boomi using web service server.
if you want to access Boomi atmosphere APIs you can access to using your username /password or you(Admin) can create a new user with appropriate permissions in admin page .
Also, just to add to this, if you have SSO enabled in your account, the user accessing the API must have the "Administrator -- Boomi Default Administrator role." role assigned.
Seth Duda Adam Arrowsmith Is it still the same case if the account is SSO enabled , then the user Accessing Boomi API must have "Administrator" - Role assigned ?. Isn't risk to give the administrator privilege for service user , and when there is a need to share that service user to some external hosted/SaaS solutions to invoke the Boomi Processes running on that account ? How to overcome this risk ?
Yes, that is still a requirement. However allowing to create a non-admin service user when SSO is enabled is an idea that is on the product team's radar:Please enable SSO users to access AtomSphere API
I wanted to add a little more information, AtomSphere API calls are authenticated by AtomSphere user name and password. When working with an SSO enabled account, admin users (users with the "Administrator" role) are the only users that are allowed to log in using user name and password.
