Filter the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Import Profile Wizard

Using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connector and importing a profile as part of a new operation.   We have a large number of custom entities in addition to the large number of standard entities in CRM.  I'm finding that without using a filter, I occasionally get a timeout error (after it tries for 2-3 mins) and have to try again at which point it may or may not fail again.

The import wizard has a box called Filter.  I've yet to be able to use this successfully.  If I put "account" in there or the name of an entity I'm trying to use, it tries and then I eventually get an error:  "Unable to browse connector:  java.lang.NullPointerException".    I'm able to use similar filters on the SAP and Database connectors without a problem.

Does anyone know the secret format to use for this?  and no, the information icon to the right of the box does not work.  :-)

Thanks!
