Error 500 Failed attempting direct execution happening intermittently with Boomi API.

I am utilizing Boomi's API Management feature and every couple of days in no discernible pattern my application will get the following error when attempting to access the REST endpoints on our cloud atom.


Error 500 Failed attempting direct execution

Problem accessing /ws/rest/{endpoint}/;boomi_auth={auth_token}. Reason: Failed attempting direct execution


When this happens it lasts for roughly 5 minutes and affects all endpoints available. The error happens regardless of the traffic volume. I see it during heavy and very light load so load doesn't seem to be a factor in generating the error. All the endpoints use a low latency web process with a Salesforce connector, but I never see the processes show up in the error logs or in the dashboard under process errors.


Does anyone have an idea what might be the underlying cause of the error and what I could do to mitigate it?
