Transferring files using Disk Connector

We have a requirement to transfer files from source (Linux) to a destination (Windows Server 2008) and we are planning to use disk connector. Is it possible to use disk connector without installing atom to the destination server given the requirement?

The folder in destination server is created and open for public read/write. However, when we tried to test it, we encountered an error during run-time and test mode (see below).

Directory setting we tried are as follows: //hostname/foldername and ip-address/foldername

Error:

Test execution of TransferFiles completed with errors. Embedded message: Directory '/<hostname>/<foldername>' does not exist.

***Noted that we can ping the destination server from Linux machine where atom is hosted.

Your help is much appreciated.
