Environment Extensions Questions

1. In my production environment, if I have processes that were deployed without using Environment Extensions, and now want to deploy processes that use extensions for connection settings for connectors also being used by those previously deployed processes. Will those previously deployed processes be impacted in any way?

2. If I redeploy processes where Environment Extensions are not defined after defining Environment Extensions for connectors that are used by those processes, must I add those extensions to the redeployed processes?

I want to start using Test vs Production connection Environment Extension settings like database name, user, password, server, etc to make test vs production deployment less problematic but don't want to impact any currently deployed processes where these environment extensions were not used without first doing an impact assessment and making and validating required changes changes.  I'm looking to avoid any potential pitfalls.
