check for no data

Dear Forum,

This is probably a common requirement: a check for no data.

i.e. if the database connection process at the start of a process doesn't return any data / documents then process completes successfully.

But this may in fact be an issue. i.e. expecting the process to process 1 (and only 1 record).

I will add a "select count(*) as reccount from ..." query at start of process and if the result is 0 then will handle accordingly.

I might have asked this same question before? I will check .. If I have I will delete this question.

May there is a better/common way for checking/handling this no data situation.
