Is it possible to get filter parameters from an oData API before the database is queried?

I have an oData API set up. It calls a process that starts with a Web Services Server shape. I've set up a Dynamic Process Property to try to capture the filter parameters that are passed when the API URL is called.

I have read conflicting articles as to whether it is possible to pull out and use the filter parameters with the oData API. Some sources say that the filters are only applied after the data is pulled and processed through a Map shape. Others say that with the Get Entity By Key you can use the param_ tab to get the filter parameter. I've tried this with little success so far.

Does anyone know definitely if this is possible?
