I am wondering about the atom upgrade schedule, in particular with Java 8. I see on the Oracle Java SE Support site that Java 8 is ending public updates in September 2018. How does that impact the timing of the atom sunset? End of life at end of year? I do see that there is LTS available out to 2019 and beyond.
We went through the Java 6 sunset a couple years ago and this time I'd like to get ahead of it as we are going to be approaching 200-300 remotely administered atoms by that time. I believe we have a couple Java 7 atoms still running, so I'm assuming we should at least be planning on upgrading those over the next year. Any plans to have Java 9 as part of the install running next year?
